National Programs

Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal, health promotion program for low-income pregnant women. The program is a 40-year-old partnership between Zeta Phi Beta and the March of Dimes designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy through two components-incentives and education. Stork’s Nest clients “earn” points toward the following incentives:

• Maternity or baby items
• attending prenatal appointments
• participating in prenatal education classes
• Taking their babies to well baby appointments

Thousands of women across the United States are serviced at Stork’s Nests maintained by members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority

Prematurity Awareness Sundays are held each year in November to bring awareness to preterm births. Chapters and members across the country are encouraged to ask their churches to distribute information on prematurity awareness, causes of prematurity and the importance of seeking prenatal care in an effort to decrease infant mortality and the number of low birth weight babies.
